Not the fear of what he would do if he found me, because he would probably never bother to look, but the fear of what would come next. If my uncle left me bleeding and he left me broken, then how would i ever survive anything more? But what came next left me with no options. Delivered on the concrete floor of the Hacienda to the strains of "Spellbound," doriana is the bastard child of Tony Wilson and a hard-up groupie whose golden era passed away with Keith Moon and Sid Vicious. She was whisked off to America's sunny southland at an early age and fed sweet peaches and cream. Eventually landing in the Big Easy for a year, doriana became a young scrapper, collecting the lunchmoney of five parishes to fund a year in Europe. Hobnobbing with the Russian mafia gradually lost its charm, despite the generous servings of quality vodka and caviar. Paris, Stockholm, Berlin, Rome-none held as much allure for her as New York. Arriving with a golden westward breeze, doriana set up a small flat in the East Village, entertaining her riotous guests with cheap parlor tricks, clever shadow puppets, and, of course, danceable tunes. Currently, she rocks the decks at B-Side on the last Thursday of every month for APOCALYPTICO. And in her spare time, she writes. Threadbare pieces of her collection of self-indulgent short stories, this life, will be released this fall under a subsidiary of Barnes & Noble. Currently, doriana is working on a debut novel about 9/11, the Spanish Civil War, and all of the confusion and personal tragedy that slips between the cracks. Stay tuned for news and events. |
